Reward the Bastards

Recess appointments are a way of giving a post to an individual without Senate confirmation. The process is used for political hot potatoes like John Bolton. Bush rewards Swift Boat donor. Apparently recess appointments of ambassadors are not eligible for pay; however, that doesn't stop the Bush administration from trying to reward special people. The Department of State will not rule out paying a salary to Sam Fox, the major Swift Boat Veterans For Truth donor who was recess appointed as US Ambassador to Belgium by President George W. Bush yesterday.
